We’re seeing him on Sunday and I have to work all day tomorrow so its pretty running around last min. Any fun toys that you baby likes or know of that he would like? We’re not really looking for anything sentimental, but somthing fun he can play with. Somthing about 6 months +. Any under $50. Thanks!!!!

This is not to hurt anyone’s feelings or anything. It’s just a story and its not true Rate it from 1-20. 1being the worst, 20 being the best:

A Family, A Home
North Korea- 1950: November [Rated NT( as in not true)fantasy fiction]

Long time ago, a story was told of a little girl that would lose her home and get rejected by her neighbors. Even though the villagers looked at her as if she was a monster, she had the goal to save them. This girl lived in a little poor village where food was scarce. People fought for food and shelter. One day, while she was out fishing for food, the house started burning. Her parents were in the house trapped. Ji Su was quickly notified. When she rushed back, she found 2 bodies, as dead as puppets. She cried out in sorrow. As she quietly wept, the mayor decided what to do with this orphan. As the mayor gathered a town meeting ( since the town wasn’t as much as 9 large families) and asked for suggestions. Ji Su’s uncle, Tae Jung, 74 years old, recommend that they just kick her out, since she is useless and might as well find some place to make herself useful. Her best friend Ji Won always stood up for her. She was protesting, but it was no use. She was merely just a child.
As soon as Ji Su heard of this, she was shocked at first, but she quickly packed up what was left of her clothings and toys. As she was taking one last look at her devastated home, a puppy popped out of the rubble, in his mouth, was a Snow Globe (, its a see through globe that has white confetti in it). She took it from the mouth and poked at it. She was about to throw the globe on the floor, but then she saw some words on it. She desperately tried to read it, although her eyes were flooded with tears. As soon as her eyes were clear, she read the markings. It consisted: America, China, Europe, Alaska, Canada, Australia, Terabithia, Camelot, Japan, and other places imaginable.
(In her point of view)
I tapped at it. The dog barked. I bent down to pet it. The dog nuzzled me. I touched the place where it said Canada. There was a soft warm glow, all of a sudden, everything around me turned white. It kept on spinning and spinning. The world was blurred with a cool sheet of white. Kids giggled and laughed. Suddenly, A block of snow was hurled at me. I was speechless. The girl who threw the snow ball at me laughed gleefully. A boy came up to me and said, “ Hey, I haven’t seen you around the block, are you new here?” I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t understand them. To me they were speaking gibberish.

After a few months later:
I learned their spoken language. I became one of them. The person who was taking care of me was really kind to me. She provided me with warm clothes. I even got to keep the dog. I made some new friends, but I also missed my old friends back in Korea. One day, I was thinking about how I got to Canada, it was something about the globe. I took it out of my drawer. I started tapping on it. Nothing happened. I tapped it again. Nothing happened. Finally I realized that I needed that dog to help me. Since the dog was like a hero to me, I decided to name it. I thought and thought, at last, I came up with Tera. I went down stairs to fetch the Tera. He was barking at the pigeons on the cloth line. When I said his name, he turned his head and trotted over to me. It was as if he was born with that name. I started tapping Korea. This time, it worked. But there was something different. There were swirls of black. the whole world was now in darkness. Suddenly, I was back at my home, or what used to be my home. It was replaced by a cemetery. I heard a “BANG” hear and there. Cries of pain all around. I realized, there was a war going on.
Marching soldiers in parallel lines, each person had a M16 all strapped to their back. One of them, was walking towards me. He yelled ” Why are you not in prison?” I was so confused. I spoke in Korean, saying that I was only here to visit. He looked around, seeing no one, he frowned. “Where are your parents?” he asked. I was about to say in Canada, but they were only people who took care of me until I find a home. Then I thought of my true parents, the ones that were from Korea. Tears started to fill my eyes. “Dead”, I whispered. I started telling him how their death happened when another soldier walked up beside him. ” Take her to where the others are! And thats An order!”yelled the man. I was terrified. Touched by the story told, the first soldier wiped off some tears, then took a deep breath and led me to the Prisoners Cage. I took one last glance at the world around me before I went into the prison. What I saw horrified me. There were bunches of guillotines and heads on the floor. I entered the POW camp.
In prison was dark and musty. The smell of rotten meat and sewer water filled the air. The guard quietly held his breath. As my eyes adjust to the darkness, a faint whisper came all around. “It’s a guard, he’s come to set us free”, “No guards eve
Please read it all cuz it is quite interesting.. If you do, I might vote for your answer to be the best.
This is suppose to be a short story

I’ve been to 3 different vets in the past year and while they have always been nice they just don’t seem to know how to communicate with dogs? and they don’t know why they do things? for example my last vet asked my dog to sit. Well she didn’t just ask… she said in a high pitched “HEY PUPPY SIT SIT SIT ? SHAKE STAY HEEL? hEHEHEHE still learning” Umm…. yeaah.. so I asked my puppy to sit once and she did. I wanted to burst out laughing at the vet because it was ridiculous LOL. And the other vet I went to a few months ago barely looked or talked to my dog at all and misdiagnosed her etc. it was a terrible visit. Bad vets I guess??

Okay, so I can’t be the only person in the world who has unintentionally released THINGS from my kitchen. You know. Monstrosities the likes of which should never grace a plate or be seen by sane men. Generally, if you listen to my husband, I’m a damned good cook with what I know, but I’m always learning, and along the way things sometimes get . . . messy.

So! I’d like to hear some stories about your greatest/worst/funniest culinary mishaps. Top Chef premiers tonight, and I need some good tales to get me in the mood. A terrible recipe, a mistaken ingredient, or just a dinner disaster. Best story gets the Best Answer prize, of course, and you get to make some people laugh or grimace with sympathy.

I’ll start. I’m a big fan of Alton Brown (he makes learning fun! :D ) and recently I saw the Duck episode. He basically shows you how to strip down a duck into quarters and cook it in a way that renders most of it’s fat out, making it leaner and tastier. My biggest mistake in attempting this myself a few days later may have been the fact that my knives were about as sharp as playskool safety scissors, but I also had no experience disassembling birds whatsoever. The carnage that day was terrible, I tell you. I abandoned my ill-suited kitchen shears halfway through and simply resorted to hammering on the joints with an extremely dull cleaver. It was like something out of Kill Bill. I de-boned sections that didn’t need de-boning and I did it POORLY. I had bits all over the front of my apron. It took me over an hour for one small bird. To top it all off, I ended up forgetting it in the oven for over an hour while I got distracted in the herb garden by something shiny, like a small, stupid puppy would. Burnt to a brick. Oh well. When my husband got home and asked what was for dinner, I just said “Nothing” and changed the subject. At least it was a lesson in humility.

So come on! Don’t be shy. Share you stories and maybe spare someone else the misfortune of making the same mistake.
